X370: The best ITX motherboard
For the X370 chipset we arrive at the ASUS RoG Strix X370-I Gaming. Sleek, silver-grey and complete: that's the best way to describe this ITX board. Compared to the ASRock B350 discussed above, the price goes up: the Strix X370-I Gaming costs an average of 220 dollars. For that extra price you get USB 3.1 and a second M.2 slot - on PCIe 3.0 x4 even. Again we come across the Realtek ALC1220. The upgrade is also in the wifi: the Realtek chip used goes up to 867 Mbit per second.
With six phases, the power supply is slightly less extensive than with ASRock, but still strong enough, so you don't have to worry about it. Furthermore, ASUS also equipped the RoG Strix X370-I Gaming well with RGB. Besides the illuminated heatsink of the PCH, RGB is also placed on the side of the motherboard and there is an addressable RGB header present. So you can see your creation in full glory and show it at a LAN party. The RoG Strix X370-I Gaming is also very suitable as a basis for a potent all-rounder, in combination with for example a 1600X, 1700, 2600X or 2700X.
