Benchmarks: Forza Motorsport 7

Racing in Forza Motorsport 7 with an AMD card usually goes just a little faster on an Intel CPU than on a Ryzen, but in the higher settings that difference disappears largely. In the frame times, AMD at 1440p ultra even takes the win, but in the other settings the Intel CPU still delivers a smoother image.

Frame times - Forza Motorsport 7 (AMD RX Vega 56)
  1080p - ultra 1440p - medium 1440p - ultra 4K - medium
AMD Ryzen 5 2600X 12.4 ms 7 ms 14.4 ms 10 ms
Intel Core i5 8600K 10.3 ms 6.7 ms 16.8 ms 9.1 ms

What is striking about the results with the Nvidia GPU is that AMD on 4K medium seems to deliver a much better fps, while the frame time is worse. We can see the latter across the board.

Frame times - Forza Motorsport 7 (Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti)
  1080p - ultra 1440p - medium 1440p - ultra 4K - medium
AMD Ryzen 5 2600X 14.1 ms 10.3 ms 15 ms 12 ms
Intel Core i5 8600K 10.3 ms 7.8 ms 11.8 ms 10 ms
