ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Strix review: the first custom 1080 Ti

New cooler for the new high-end Nvidia model

By

Noise levels and temperatures

The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Strix does not produce any noise when idle, because the fans are not turned on. Under load we measure 45 dB(A) – a lot quieter than the Founders Edition. The 1080 Ti Strix also reaches 69 degrees Celcius which is 14 degrees cooler than the reference model.

Considering the fact that the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti uses a lot more power and therefore produces more heat than the 1080, while keeping the noise levels practically identical, we can conclude that ASUS made an enormous step forwards in terms efficiency of the cooler.
