Where a comparison is not as interesting for the other subtests, it is definitely interesting to compare the power consumption of this monitor with other smaller super wide monitors. For a monitor as big as the LG 38UC99 the power consumption is not that bad. At maximum brightness it does not perform great, but not a lot worse than the 34” uwqhd-models that we compare it with. It is even the most economic model when it comes to power consumption for black.
If we set the monitor to a normal brightness of 150 nits, we measure an acceptable 44 watt for white and 33 watt for black. The monitor also performs well in standby and when turned off.
