Sony Xperia Tablet Z review: Xperia Z as tablet

Sony's water-proof Full HD tablet

Sony was one of the first to release a Full HD smartphone. The Xperia Z also turned out to be a high-quality product, with the unique feature of being water-proof. Sony wasn't quite as fast with releasing its first Full HD tablet, but we did eventually get the Tablet Z. It's also water-proof, and after using it extensively for a period of time, we can say we're quite impressed with Sony's Full HD tablet.

Sony has tried to make each of its tablets something different, but until now never really managed to make a tablet feel like a true Sony product. The tablets rarely looked like Sony's smartphones.

The Xperia Tablet Z does clealy fit in that line, as it almost looks identical to the Xperia Z. You recognize immediately that you're dealing with the tablet version of the Xperia Z.

And that's a good thing, as the Xperia Z is generally seen as a very good-looking smartphone. The back side is different, instead of glass-like on the Xperia Z, the Tablet Z has a rubbery surface. It feels nice to the touch, and is less slippery than the glass of the Xperia Z.
