TP-Link TL-WDR3600 and TL-WDR4900

The next two routers are from TP-Link. TP-Link has a fairly comprehensive line-up, especially with the recent announcement of the ac router a few months ago at CES. In the world of routers it's become an increasingly interesting brand.

TP-Link's products are typically affordably priced, not only the routers, but all the network products like powerline adapters, repeaters and switches. But price of course means nothing if the performance is poor. Fortunately for the TL-WDR3600, the cheapest router by far here with a price of 60 euros, it also performs very well. On many points it's about as good as the almost twice-as-expensive Sitecom X6.

The TL-WDR4900 takes it even further, and it's clear this model is aimed more at the high-end segment. With an average price of 110 euros it's not really an affordable router anymore, but its performance is excellent. A few of the more expensive models are even faster, but that's fine. There still is some room for improvement in terms of features and ease of use, but other than that these two routers are very good.
