Netgear WNDR3700 and WNDR4500
Netgear's routers have looked practically the same for years now. Only their ac routers, the R6200 and R6300, have a different look. The rest are standard routers, like the WNDR3700 and WNDR4500. With the WNDR3700 you can remove the stand in order to lay it flat or mount it on a wall. The WNDR4500 doesn't have that option.
That is actually the only complaint we have for the WNDR4500, otherwise it's the best router in this test, with the Linksys EA4500 not far behind it. The performance is outstanding, and the very comprehensive Genie software that you can install on your computer almost removes any reason to access the router's web interface. That's a good thing, because it looks very old, and isn't always the easiest to understand.
The WNDR3700 is very comparable to the Linksys EA2700 from the previous page, and provides good value for the price.
