GeForce GTX 700 series SLI review: GeForce GTX 760/770/780 in SLI and 3-way SLI

GeForce GTX 760 - Scaling

Now we're going to look at how well each graphics card scales, and first up is the GeForce GTX 760. We listed the test results below of a single GTX 760, SLI and 3-way SLI configurations. The three columns on the right show the performance gain of each configuration, and at the bottom you'll find averages, and the average for each resolution and quality setting.

The GeForce GTX 760 scales 58.9% in SLI, and a third card adds another 15%. That's because several games actually run worse with a third card, as you can see below. 

The average of 58.9% is negatively influenced by the poor scaling in the 1920x1080 Medium benchmarks, that are often limited by the CPU. Full HD and Highest/Ultra settings scales at an average of 70.5%,  and similar numbers for 5760x1080 with Highest/Ultra. That's very good. A third card only makes sense here for 5760x1080 resolution, but you still only gain 27.1%.
