Portable printers have been around for some time, but the HP Officejet 150 Mobile is more than just a printer, it's an all-in-one. That does increase its size, but it's small enough still to be called mobile. Hardware.Info tested it to find out how good it is.
We test lots of printers over the course of a year, but it's not that often that a portable printer arrives at our test lab. HP Officejet 150 Mobile All-in-One does fall into that category, but it's not nearly as compact at the Brother PocketJet PJ-663. That's not strange per se, considering the PJ-663 uses thermal technology which doesn't require ink cartridges. The HP Officejet 150 Mobile is a color inkjet printer that takes two cartridges, one with black and one with three colors. It also scans and copies.
With the tray extended, the Officejet 150 measures 35x23x25 centimetres. When you close it, it's only 9 cm tall. It weighs 3 kg, while not heavy for a printer, it's a lot to haul around with you. So perhaps a more accurate description for this product would be a printer for mobile use that doesn't move that often. Like in the car of a repair men or IT support crew. And it could be useful to take with out on your business trips for your hotel room, if you don't mind 3 kg of extra luggage.
It's not a cheap printer with an average price of $400, but mobile printers rarely are.
